Alan’s Wisdom Event Update

Thanks Alan, for a great Wisdom Event.

Alan covered a broad spectrum of ideas and observations, concentrating on how developments in technology are changing learning behaviour in schools and organisations whilst exploring concepts like on-demand and experiential learning. Great, thought provoking stuff.

We took Alan’s slides and edited them together with some of the major insights of the evening. To learn more about the groundbreaking work that Alan does, visit him at The Glasgow Group.

Alan Kay and May’s Wisdom

This Wisdom Event is now sold out. If you’d like to be notified should tickets become available, please send a mail to Jo-Ann.

We’re thrilled to present Alan Kay for May’s Wisdom Event, a man with an interesting past and an even more interesting present.

Alan is the past Managing Director of Harrod & Mirlin and the past President of the Toronto Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Presently he is a member of the Education Committee of the Canadian Marketing Association and also teaches executive development students at the Schulich School of Business. He is also the CEO of the Glasgow Group,  a solution focused Change Management Consultancy, which gives him the opportunity to not just teach but also practice what he knows.

The end of silos

Brands are created by a mixture of behaviour and culture. Today’s consumer experiences brands in a multitude of ways that have little to do with traditional marketing, from the way you answer your phone to how you conduct employment interviews.

You can’t afford to have any silos left, everything connects and everything is being shared.  Organizations need to recognize that everyone in the company is part of the branding experience.

What you’ll learn

Alan will be presenting a highly interactive session, with learning being the central focus.

  • How has consumer behaviour changed in the last five years and what are the implications for brands?
  • How can you profit from this change?
  • An introduction to tools and techniques to make the most of this knowledge.

Who should attend?

You and someone else in your organization who does not have Brand or Marketing in their title. A receptionist, an accountant, a buyer, a sales person, the janitor or a security guard.

Where, when and tickets

Tickets are now sold out.

Location, at the fisheye homebase, 293 Augusta Avenue, May the 6th at 5:00. Alan will start off at 5:30 sharp. Refreshments will be served.

March Wisdom

We are taking the wisdom ball and we will continue to run with it. Every single month in 2010 there will be a fisheye Wisdom Event, where interesting people will have 15 minutes to share what they are passionate about, share what they know, and connect with a small, intimate audience.

We are extremely excited to start this series off with a talk by inaugural Marketing Hall of Fame member and all round marketing guru Dr. Alan Middleton when he joins us at fisheye on Thursday March 4th. If you’re in any way connected to marketing you will want to be there, but hurry – space is limited and once tickets are gone, they’re gone.

RSVP Jo-Ann, or just comment on this post, for wine and wisdom from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Alan kicks it off at 5:30.
